On older versions of autotools (e.g., Debian wheezy), the following error is generated:

./configure: line 12387: MY_CHECK_LIBNMSG_MSGMOD: command not found

On newer versions of autotools the MY_CHECK_LIBNMSG_MSGMOD runs.
