Adding and removing a bunch of loops quickly can crash the back end #24

I haven't figured out an exact sequence, but if I repeat a bunch Ctrl-1 commands to add loops and Ctrl-D to remove them, then I can crash the back end. I don't know but maybe happens if a loop isn't fully initialized before it is deleted or another one is added. I need to look into more.
