Configuring scotchbox-bedrock along an existing working scotchbox

Hello Andreas,
This isn't an issue properly speaking. I'm looking for your insight in the following;
I already have an working local scotchbox environment running multiple sites (Drupal + WP).
Is it possible to configure scotch-bedrock inside my existing environment, or is it cleaner and error-free process to go along the creation of a new box (virtual machine)?
My final objective is to test Bedrock + Sage workflow which by reading the docs appeals a lot to me. For my actual know-how level, Trellis seems a bit challenging to configure.
