How to set up VizStudio, S372 A/B for a presentation or zoom

  • Earth Lab Team may use Earth Lab laptop
  • Can use personal/guest speaker's laptop which may require additional set up & adaptors

Set up Hardware

  1. Turn on HDMI A Wall plate (located on wall immediately left after walking in the door)
  • Tap to wake
  • Click HDMI A box (left-hand top) – Front big screens should turn on
  1. Connect HDMI cord to adaptor, Connect adaptor to laptop
  • Thick black HDMI cord (is plugged into the wall centered under the screen).
  • There is a black ‘Dell’ adaptor that is chained to the podium. This Dell adapter does not work with newer Macs (non-Intel, M1/M2/M3).
  1. Connect gray audio/visual cord to the same adaptor or directly to computer
  • Long USB gray cord. (Is running along the table & back wall under a cable cover next to green thick cord.)
  1. Set up Via zoom (see below) to check connection, camera angle, & mic/sound

Zoom set up

  1. Open Zoom
  • Click “^” on mic & video to check connected to SEEC S372 A/B cam/mic. b. Click test speaker & Microphone

Things to know & double check

  1. Outlet on podium does not work
  • plug any chargers directly into the wall or one of the movable silver tower outlets in the room
  1. Camera view
  • can be adjusted from HDMI wall plate
  1. Sound
  • Labeled “SEEC S372 A/B Mic/cam”
  • Microphone will pick up the whole room so presenter should be able to walk around. However, this means the microphone will also pick up all of the sounds in the room, like side conversations/whispers/outside noise. May want to close all the doors.
  1. Additionally, if presenter wants to play a video with sound, they will need to click the ‘share sound’ check box in the share screen button for people on zoom to hear
