Hi Dylan and thanks a lot for your work on porting pianobar to android, really appreciate your efforts :)
I am trying to run this on my Galaxy S4, I have to admit I'm a new android user, but so far i'm loving it. Either way, I'm running 4.2.2 if that can help. Whenever I start pandoroid this is what happens:

Any chance you could point me in the right direction? Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks a lot for your help and keep it up!

Regards.

This is interesting. Well I have yet to personally test it on 4.2. If you can get into your system logs, and get me a snippet that shows the error, that would be very helpful.

Same here, on a galaxy S4 I'm getting "Preparing..." and it just keeps doing that. No music.

I have seen a preparing notification 25% of the time, I kill the app and restart it and good to go

I'll be honest. This app is pretty buggy. I haven't had much time to provide an update that brings the quality up to my own standards. I've even noticed a few new bugs crop up in the past month or so, but I still manage to use it everyday without killer issues. If you want help, you're going to have to give me a logcat showing what Pandoroid is trying to do, or else I can't help you.

After a fresh reboot, here's the logcat I get. I'm on wifi.

I guess my issue is more related to issue #21. sorry, I didn't mean to hijack this issue.

@weboide I posted the fix to #21. Before I was having people email me to get the fix (That was when I thought I'd get a real fix up sooner), but I might as well now post it out in the open.

Thank you so much! That apk works for me.

I totally love Pandoroid. I flashed the Cyanogenmod 10/Android 4.1.2 rom to a spare mytouch 3g slide. Pandoroid initially worked flawlessly (after a couple force closes, no biggie?) but later on this evening I could not get it to connect for anything. I fought with it trying to retrace my steps since I had no idea what I was doing differently than the first time. "Preparing..." and "pandora's servers are unreachable" and a few unknown errors for good measure.

While I finally gave up and was installing another app, Pandoroid suddenly began working again. Then once I'd finished with the other, it stopped. Wtf?? So I finally took your advice and went to Play store again to install alogcat, and.. boom. It worked again. It was like National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation when the wife figures out the missing link to make all the christmas lights work. :-P

I can't post the logcat from it at this moment but in the meantime I wanted to suggest a link to google Play as a possible avenue to pursue. I think Pandoroid might be encountering an access/permission issue from what little I could interpret from the logcat, that seems to be temporarily soothed by Play store. Strange.

Thanks for all your work!! I'll get you the logcat asap.

@apatheist It appears your difficulties are network related. The error "pandora's servers are unreachable" occurs when you have a network connection (LAN) but for some reason Pandora can't be reached. This is largely an issue with your ISP or cell carrier. It could also be a problem with your phone. Hopefully your issues will solve themselves :)
