Issue: Scream Driver Fails After Windows 11 Updates
Summary: The Scream driver worked flawlessly on my Windows 11 machine until the following updates were automatically installed:
Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5041585)
Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, Version 23H2 for x64 (KB5042099)
Steps Taken: I had previously rolled back the system date by a few years to bypass the out of date certificate issue when installing the Scream driver. This workaround allowed me to successfully install and use the driver.
However, after the latest updates, the driver only functions immediately after the first reboot post-installation, and then for just a few minutes before failing.
Temporary Solution Attempt: I plan to uninstall the aforementioned updates to determine if the driver regains stable functionality. However, this is not a sustainable long-term solution.
System Information:
Edition: Windows 11 Pro
Version: 23H2
OS Build: 22631.4037
Installed On: 19/10/2022
Experience Pack: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1027.0
Request for Assistance: Has anyone else encountered similar issues following these updates? Are there any suggestions or workarounds that would allow the Scream driver to work reliably without rolling back Windows updates?
