Getting started

Clone this project to $HOME/.cue

Configure the left and right parts of the prompt in .bash_profile. The git, pwd, and ssh prompts are provided in cue.

export PS1_LEFT='${prn_git}${prn_pwd}'
export PS1_RIGHT='${prn_ssh}'

Load the cue profile in both .bash_profile and .bashrc so sub-shells also get the prompt.

source $HOME/.cue/libexec/_cue

To load the ssh, pwd, and git prompts:

source $HOME/.cue/libexec/_ssh
source $HOME/.cue/libexec/_pwd
source $HOME/.cue/libexec/_git

Adding a custom prompt

For an example, we'll add a hello prompt to the right side.

Insert the hello prompt placeholder into PS1_RIGHT:

export PS1_RIGHT='${prn_ssh}${prn_hello}'

cue will look for a function or command named prompt_hello. In .bashrc, define a function of that name:

function prompt_hello {
  echo " ${syellow}hello!"
}

Source .bash_profile to reload the prompt definitions. There should be a yellow "hello!" to the right of the prompt.
