How can I calibrate the steering on my v1 X-Dream Bike? #15
-
As the handlebars are tilted side to side, the internal mechanism turns a potentiometer, adjusting the resistance read by the PCB components. This is fed back to the computer in the form of a number 0..255 (left..right). It should be about 115-120 when centered. |

Apparently there are 2 different PCBs and they calibrate in slightly different ways. Let's refer to these as X and Y. Apparently there are 2 different PCBs and they calibrate in slightly different ways. Let's refer to these as X and Y.
Definition: Common calibration procedure
Start the xdream test console application that shows the telemetry from the bike
Confirm that it is showing telemetry
Power the bike off and leave it for 30s to drain everything
Holding the left gear up button, turn the power on
Initial Determination of PCB Version
Perform the common calibration procedure
Release the left gear up button
If the console stays black, you have type X, otherwise you have type Y.
Calibration for type X
Perform the common calibration procedure
Release the left gear up button
Lean the handlebar all the way …
