Hi all,
Just a small announcement from @manup on device implementations.
Little announcement for the Github PR handling:
I'd like to put a pause on future device request C++ PRs for a while, in order to focus on completing the DDF functionality for Tuya, switches and DDF editor capabilities.
As usual fixes are very welcome but ihmo we shouldn't add any more hard coded devices and modelid checks, the performance, testing and maintenance of these becomes increasingly crazy wink
It would be very cool to transform more already supported devices into DDF, for lights and plugs this should relatively easy and hopefully we can nix a few modelid checks (see ubisys C4, S2, S1). This would also have the advantage that they get listed under https://dresden-elektronik.github.io/deconz-rest-doc/devices
I hope to get the already existing C++ PRs merged in the upcoming betas with real device testing where possible and ideally together with a DDF. The current Device/DDF implementation still has glitches and performance, which is another thing I'd like to focus on over the next releases.
That being said: device requests can be done, but will only be taken care of if a DDF can be made for it.
Kind regards,
Dennis
