Great idea! The simulator should be compatible with openiboot since I actually used it to understand the behaviour of the different hardware devices. Would be interesting to run the openiboot binary and see how far it gets!

I experimented with this before but ran into somewhat of a brick wall. You'd need to create a custom NOR image and adapt the code in the generate-nor repo.

Yeah, as I recall and have just checked again, I end up at ipod_touch_usb_phys_write: write invalid location 0x00000044. Which does mean that openiboot begins loading but then stops.
