Is this project abandoned?

Hi,

We maintain a project built for the DTA using the react components of the design system. The system has since been transitioned to Finance and we are considering how to maintain going forward given the DTA has abandoned the design system. One option would be to migrate to this GOLD project the other would be to replace with something else completely.

What is the status of this GOLD project? Is it still being actively maintained? It seems like the last commit was in 2021 and no new release etc have been done in quite some time? Are security updates being actively pursued? And is compatibility with newer versions of react going to be maintained?

Thanks for the input as these answers will help us make a sensible suggestion to the department on what we should do next.

IMO you should migrate to https://design-system.agriculture.gov.au/

It's an unfortunate fact that in fed gov software things die quickly. I wish we could work on this more but it seems there isn't much backing up support. I would do what @svict4 suggested for now.
Until this project is something we would like to put effort in at least. I'll be here waiting for that moment :)

I'd bet that many a group have forked and still using something based on this but have no inclination to contribute back or inability to since the dev's have rolled off.
