Hey Side Chat,
This is a great concept and could definitely be a useful tool! If would be really cool if you could get this off the ground.

Would there be some form of authentication (ie email) for users to create an account and start posting, or would it be like reddit where anyone can create an account?
How would you stop users from misusing the application - ie for advertising/spam?
Would there be moderators, and how would they be implemented.
How would the application create revenue to support running costs?

Authentication will be necessary to prevent vote brigading. This can be done using facebook account sign in, or by signing up for a sidechat account.
To prevent spam, we will have a strict Report Spam option. If enough people report a submitted topic as spam, it will go into review.
If the project grows to a certain size, we will need to consider moderation by selected users. As for implementation, this is something we will need to discuss.
We will sell everybody's data to the highest bidder to make bulk cash, then take down the servers before police investigate.
