It would greatly enhance the Decidim.org website if it featured a comprehensive showcase of all instances implemented using Decidim. Currently, there is an existing effort led by @PierreMesure, who has done an outstanding job of collecting a significant number of instances, which can be found at decidim-census.digidemlab.org.

By showcasing all instances on Decidim.org, we can provide a centralized and easily accessible repository of the various implementations of the Decidim platform worldwide. This would not only serve as a testament to the platform's versatility and adaptability but also foster collaboration, inspiration, and knowledge sharing among the Decidim community.

Two aspects should be taken into account:

  • Instance Submission Process: Implement a streamlined process for users to submit their Decidim instances for inclusion in the showcase. This process could involve an online form where users provide relevant information, such as the instance's name, description, location, and website.
  • Maintenance and Updates: Establish a system for regularly maintaining and updating the showcase to ensure that it remains up to date and representative of the evolving Decidim ecosystem.

Would be glad to help and contribute to all of this, let me know if that sounds interesting to the association.

Decidim Census was an exercise to learn more about the Decidim API. My goal was also to implement more queries, maybe gather more data in a BI tool to be able to compare different installations. Note that it's been saving historical data about many platforms for over a year so this part could also be included in the graphical interface.

In order to make it easy to display Decidim platforms using the API, I would recommend to add some calls to the API:

  • get logo
  • get colour behind the logo
