Customer Relationship Manager & Lead Generator

We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive individual to join our Business Development team at Datopian. This role combines customer relationship management with lead generation to help us foster stronger client relationships and identify new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Relationship Manager:

  • Regularly engage with our existing clientele, especially those without dedicated project managers, meeting at least quarterly.
  • Act as a liaison to listen to client feedback, check in on their satisfaction, and identify any potential issues or concerns.
  • Address client complaints or issues by translating them into clear scopes of work for our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or Support teams.
  • Celebrate client successes and positive feedback by working with them to create case studies, blog posts, or testimonials, ensuring we have permission to share these on our websites or other platforms.
  • Foster strong, long-term relationships to increase client retention and satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling or expanding service offerings where appropriate.

Lead Generator:

  • Analyze our current client base and identify potential customers that align with our services and solutions.
  • Proactively connect with potential customers via LinkedIn, email, and other networking platforms.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings with potential clients and the Datopian sales team to explore opportunities and present our solutions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the needs and challenges of potential clients, identifying their existing solutions and reasons for considering our services or opting out.

Goals

  • Improve customer retention, particularly in regions where we do not have dedicated project managers, ensuring regular check-ins and nurturing strong relationships.
  • Generate more qualified leads, especially in areas where Datopian has a presence, by researching and connecting with the right prospects.
  • Gain a deeper understanding of potential customers’ needs and challenges to better position our products and services.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and prospects.
  • Experience in customer relationship management or business development.
  • A proactive approach to lead generation, with a focus on qualified leads and long-term relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients and leads simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn and email-based outreach strategies for lead generation.
  • A solution-oriented mindset with a strong customer focus.

About the engagement

  • Start date: As soon as feasible.
  • Rate: Competitive and commensurate with responsibilities and abilities.
  • Location: Datopian is a remote-first workplace; experience in remote working is desirable (but not essential). We are currently looking for people in the European /East Coast US time zone (we’re happy for people to work elsewhere provided they are available for meetings during European / East Coast usual working hours).
