Data Commons Scotland: A glance at Open Data about Waste in Scotland

Compiled February 2020. Derived from Ian Watt's Scottish Open Data List.

Observations

• Very few fine grained datasets about household/commerical waste collection (e.g. "tonnage of recyclable waste collected in postcode area X over time period T").
• SEPA's aggregated data views are really informative but local authority is the finest level of granularity.
• No information about the flow of waste processing (e.g. a directed graph that describes the flows - compositions and tonnages - of waste bundles from primary collection points to final resting places).
