Hello Darktrojan,

thanks for your firefox addon a lot - i hope you can help with an issue:
.

General description of the problem:

I have inactivated the option "show closed tabs", still closed tabs appear in the horizontal list above the tiles.
This phenomenon has shown for some few weeks now, it was not a problem in the many month before.

I thought it might be my firefox profile - so I generated a fresh one.
I freshly installed "new tabs tool" also and also freshly configured it.
I did NOT restore "new tab tools" from a backup - it was a clean configuration from scratch.
Immediately the problem occured again.

I use the german translation of "New tab tools" - so I have to guess the english label for the option "closed tabs".
I hope there is no confusion which option I am talking about.

.

Specific description of the problem:

  • The described problem occurs erratic, it is not always reproducable.
  • This happens when I open several websites from an existing "new tab" by pressing the 3rd mouse button.
  • So yes: I always open new tabs in an actual browser's new tab, so the tab of "new tab tools" stays open and is not altered.
  • I do not close the tab "new tab tools"
  • when I eventually close one or more of just opened tabs, and I then open another "new tab tools" pressing "+", suddenly these closed tabs show up in the horizontal history list of this new "new tab tools".

.

My software configuration:

  • Windows 10 21h2 (latest updates)
  • Firefox 98.xx and 99.0 (I experienced the issue with former firefox versions of the last 4 weeks)
  • I have set "new tab tools" also as my start page
  • other addons in use: ublock origin, stylus.
  • these other addons should not effect "new tab tools", as direct access is surpressed by mozilla security policies
