macOS build instructions?

I noticed that macOS/Darwin is a supported platform and there is a notcurses homebrew package, but it does not seem to include tools and demos.

There are also no build instructions in https://github.com/dankamongmen/notcurses/blob/9d8cc0d86c1daf18f30110bfdf8388aeb96ff637/INSTALL.md.

I failed myself forward to the point where it now fails the build with:

I cannot seem to find tinfo and ncursesw packages -- do you know what this is? It would be super helpful to have a list of build dependencies for macOS builds.

Problem seems to originate from this dependency:

pkg_search_module(TERMINFO REQUIRED tinfo>=6.1 ncursesw>=6.1)

I have libunistring 1.3 installed, which according to this comment should ship this header file? 🤔

Hm, according to https://www.gnu.org/software/libunistring/, this file (unigbrk.h) is not part of this library 🤔

I think the problem is that it cannot find header files in /opt/homebrew/include, which is where homebew installs header files on newer macs.

I am not familiar enough with CMake; I tried setting:

export CPPFLAGS="-I/opt/homebrew/include"

But this did not help.

The file should be in that directory:

file /opt/homebrew/include/unigbrk.h
/opt/homebrew/include/unigbrk.h: c program text, ASCII text

in CMakeLists.txt but no dice.

I got a little further: I looked at https://cmake.org/cmake/help/latest/module/CheckIncludeFile.html to see what it does and noticed it has the following switch:

CMAKE_REQUIRED_INCLUDES

A [;-list](https://cmake.org/cmake/help/latest/manual/cmake-language.7.html#cmake-language-lists) of header search paths to pass to the compiler. These will be the only header search paths used--the contents of the [INCLUDE_DIRECTORIES](https://cmake.org/cmake/help/latest/prop_dir/INCLUDE_DIRECTORIES.html#prop_dir:INCLUDE_DIRECTORIES) directory property will be ignored.

Which worked when setting this /opt/homebrew/include but this is just a workaround I suppose?

Anyway, at least I got to the point where I have a bunch of makefiles and it compiles fine (which suggests to me that these cmake checks are indeed broken on macOS), but the linker now fails:
