Thank you for this. I have very limited knowledge of Linux and your blog enabled me to solve an issue I was having. I purchased a ASUS PN50 mini computer which has a Ryzen mobile processor in it. I wanted to install Proxmox and run Home Assistant as a virtual machine but the Proxmox installation was stalling and the recommended fixes weren't working. The last resort was to install Debian Buster and then install Proxmox over it. I tried a graphical install and must have messed something up because it failed to boot after installation was finished. So, Mr Google was consulted and your blog came up. I followed it to the letter and Debian installed perfectly. I then followed another set of instructions to install Proxmox and it works like a charm. Thank you very much! |

THIS IS NOT installing debian from scratch. You are explaining how to install with a bare system cd like the 'netinstall' cd from debian. Installing from scratch would be building the toolchain from scratch, adding the dpkg parts - eventually apt. Then each package should be built from scratch....that's the real way to go for installing debian from scratch. It's not easy and not what you are saying here. Sorry, but that's the way it is. |

Installing Debian 11 from scratch - danimart1991’s Blog
After trying Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi 2 for several months, it became necessary to buy a Mini-PC in order to expand the services and devices in my home, that is why I have encouraged myself to buy a Medion S22003 MD34639.
