Is there a way to set an body example value to null?

Is there a way to get the example in open API to show null for the ThingID property below?

Things I have tried:

1. example:""
2. nullable:true no example
3. nullable:true with example:""

pretty much everything that isn't a non empty string nets out to the example being string in the docs
