Features:

  • Collapsible panel (drawer)
  • Show all the query genes and the regulators in the current network -- do not show the other genes returned by the iRegulon results
  • Search (filter) genes
  • Select a gene entry to highlight the corresponding node and its first neighbours
  • Sync the node selection with the gene list--e.g. show only the genes from the selected nodes
  • Each gene entry must have:
    • Gene name
    • Regulator/Regulated label or icon
    • Gene description
    • Additional info (source, synonyms, etc.)
    • Links to NCBI Gene and GeneMANIA

What should we do with the query genes that were not included in the iRegulon results?
Right now they appear in the Genes panel, but with no icon/legend:

na-genes

I think they should be removed from the gene list, but the user should be aware of that somehow--some options:

  • info dialog that pops up right after the results are loaded
  • permanent warning icon that opens a popup when clicked
  • extra info in the exported data
