New podcast episodes (beginning with C3E54, and including C3E55 and C3E56 as of this writing) have added "jingle" sound effects, lasting approximately 10 seconds each, inserted twice into each episode, at approximately 0:30:00 and 1:00:00 (plus or minus a minute or two). Here is an example:
The reason for these jingles is completely mysterious to me. They seem to be placed with some degree of intentionality, since the timing changes slightly between episodes and the six instances so far have never cut into the middle of a speaker's words. But their placement is still arbitrary and bizarre.
Since these jingles are additional discrepancies between the podcast and video audio, they are hindering autosyncing.
