When started on Windows

PS> .\crc-admin-helper.exe daemon
E: 13:17:57 open \\.\pipe\crc-admin-helper: Access is denied.

... the command remains active but unusable. It never exits on a critical error.

daemon is not meant to be run by hand but by the Windows service manager. Perhaps we are missing something? or we don't use the framework correctly?
