Ways To Automate Jira Issue ID

Is there a good method for automating the JIRA_ISSUE and resolve it to the branch which is being worked on?

I've found some scripts that can get the branch commit messages and or branch names to resolve the issue ID's and then use that, but not all of my developers are following that best practice.
