This document covers how you can go about testing your stream before actually going live

Twitch

inspector.twitch.tv
- Test health of stream bitrate over time without actually broadcasting your content
Record locally
- Make sure resolution is outputting correctly
- Make sure audio levels are good and all sounds are captured

What to Check

The following are things to tweak and find a balance between your computer performance and overall stream output quality.

If streaming platform receiving your content shows the stream as unhealthy
If OBS stats are bad

  - frames missed due to rendering lag

- stream health indicator (bottom right corner)
