Using musikcube on an actual DEC VT100 terminal

Would it be possible to have the option to disable theming entirely so that musikcube displays correctly on an actual hardware serial terminal? As it is now the box drawing characters are displayed properly (mostly, the progress bar isn't drawn properly because it uses characters that aren't in the VT100's alt character set) and the text is visible in all fields but the selection/highlight isn't visible at all so it's hard to navigate and select music. I've tried creating a new theme that only uses black (0) and white (15) for background/foreground but that had no effect. Using the terminal's reverse video and/or bold text features should make for a pretty usable alternative to the color schemes. I realize I'm probably the only person looking to use musikcube in this way.
