I've recently installed v17.7 and v17.9. I both cases, my phone got bricked.

However, installing through recovery got it fixed in both cases.

So I'm curious why installation through recovery is forbidden, given that nothing special is done post-install?
"Improve scripts" ain't that explanatory either.

My phone: Galaxy Note10 Lite SM-N770F, latest stock at the time.
Recovery: whatever twrp by "afaneh92" guy (big thanks to him, it's sad he got bullied out of xda), android 9 based apparently.

My Redmi note 9 pro got bricked as well, with both Lineage 21 and PixelOS.
