Friend Request indicator is not showing if the app is running

Describe the bug

If a user gets a friend request the notification is delivered but as long as the app is still open the indicator doesn't appear. To make it visible the app has to be closed.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Open the app with account A on device D1
2. Open the app with account B on device D2
3. Send a friend request from account A to B
4. Go to device D2

Expected behavior
Friend request indicator should show.
