Plotting discussion

@keflavich @agianne @jimdale - I think there's substantial work that needs to be done with expanding the plotting capabilities as well as trying to fix some of the current issues that have come up. Either way, most of that section likely needs to be re-thought.

It would be useful to get a discussion going either here or schedule a telecon in the coming weeks for anyone who wants to be involved with plotting development.

I will be happy to help! We have to start with a rough plan of the requirements for the new plotting routine. I suppose that we will end up writing some new plugins for mpld3.
