Calibrate qz first doing some spin to higher resistance for at least 30 seconds to each resistance (at least from resistance 25 to 32) Let me know |
Erg off? |
Qz standalone so even with erg enabled, it doesn't matter.
Qz will record the speed on higher resistance so it will know which
resistance level set when zwift requests it

Like just put it very hard and spin? Then put erg back on? Thanks

30 seconds on each resistance at least of course :) |
[ 30s+ 🥵 |
perfect, did you give it a try to zwift now?
send me a debug log if it still doesn't work

Don't worry about it, Roberto. I am using manual mode and it works well for me. I must be one of the few that use powermeter pedals. Big thanks for your help. I know you have lots of requests so I did not want to bug you with it. Have a great day! |
i quickly checked the log and the reason it's because when there is a power request of 335 qz is looking through the tablet that you collect in the calibration process and at 86 cadence so qz is doing what i wrote in the code (correct or not :D ) putting you on the 25, so in the middle of this. did you try in the meantime to use the gears to add one more resistance level during erg mode? i didn't remember if i enabled this for all the bikes, but i guess so. Let me know |
It was a peak. So what I'll do is try with the watt down filter really big (to accommodate peaks(50w) and watt up lower (10w) so it suggest a higher gear quicker. Let you know what I find |
Ok I will check if I can fix it from the table.
I will check it in the next days

it was a 1sec peak
do you have something to averaging the wattage to 1s at least on the pedal? because now the pedal are sending wattage every 300ms and so this means that you have a lot of noise in the reading. Otherwise one solution could be use the averaging of the last 3 or 5 seconds to add them in the table. Let me know |
So yesterday I was going to write this :"I believe, correct me if wrong, pedals have too erratic power. Wonder it making it read avg1s power would be less erratic" But then I thought, you know what, Mathieu? He has a job so be quiet a little 😂 Ok I'll see if there is a possibility to do 1s avg via garmin. I don't think it's possible. The gps can show 1s avg or 3s avg, but not the pedals. Checking now. Get back to you. |
ok i will try to do a patch asap. unfortunately this will require to do the calibration on qz :( software testing is an hard work for your legs :D |

Hi again. Since it's 300ms. Wouldn't 3s be easier? Like 10 datapoints? 🤷♂️ |
It's more than that. I played with your data and there are spikes to be
filtered. I will try some algorithms in the next days

let's try the advices here #2431 (comment) |
i didn't forget about this. i'm using your debug log as a model to build a new engine for the ergtable |
@mathsz after some tweaking, i created this ouput from a new algorithm i see that there are wattage greater on the resistance 30 than the 32 because you were you able to have more cadence for res 30, so i guess it's ok can you try to validate it as well as correct points. Take your time, thanks
|
Yes. I was basically chilling out at resistance 32. "Chilling out" being an euphemism. I have a huge workout tomorrow. I can provide lots of data, like LOADS of logs. Just let me know what you need. |
perfect, a zipped debug log will be fine! |
drive-download-20241209T185357Z-001.zip |
Thanks, I'll check them out.

So this is new. Bike double beeps. Then falls at minimum resistance. And I cant change it back ]() |
maybe it's losing connection? never heard a echelon bike beeping |
i don't see any disconnection from the bike. and the last command to the bike resistance is 17. and also the last resistance read from the bike is 17. so i guess it's a firmware bug on the bike unfortunately |
Odd. Removing auto resistance in qz allows me to change the resistance with the knob. Putting auto resistance back on it goes back to 17. Disabling power meter pedals sensor in qz to see. It's the same behaviour every time. Double beep. Resistance goes from 21-22 to 17(minimum setting I set). Testing. I'll report later ✅ |
you said minimum resistance, i guess it was 1. 17 it's qz for sure. i thought you were using not qz for auto resistance since you have the power pedal |
the reason why it's 17 in the log it's because it always receiving 0 as a power request from the 3rd party app |
I’m beginning to wonder if the bike is broken. Disconnects all the time. Auto resistance goes everywhere or maybe my tablet running qz. Gonna test more |
trim.B5A5A71B-37B4-420F-AE76-CF667FCD510B.MOV |
So im starting the echelon app see if it disconnects |
For what I saw in the last log the bike was working perfectly. The issue
was in the third party app that you were using that it was sending power
always to 0

Fixed now. I deleted the profile I had. Created a new one. everything back to normal. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ |
Seriously even my pc now sees qz as the wahoo kickr option. This simple thing fixed most of all the connections issues I had. 🤌 |
Can’t reach wattage set by erg mode.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Expected behavior
The pedals power output to “drive” the erg behaviour
