The meta data output is currently only written if it already existed, e.g. from a cadet-database file.
The commit hash of cadet-core and the name is written to the meta data once the changes from the 2DDG fork are merged.
Further meta data can probably just be written manually? Such as source of the setting, and an 'info' field for additional input
