Linear1

  • Launch the lesson with an opt-printable review.adoc, and focus on reviewing critical material from Fitting Models (residuals, S, etc).
  • Fill in the Synthesize section of "Exploring the Data"
  • Make a NEW exploring-states.adoc: Start by giving students an X and Y, and an empty graph with those axes labeled. Ask them to draw what they think the relationship will look like (and why!), then have them make the scatter plot in Pyret and sketch what they see.
  • Flip the "looking for patterns" page upside down: START asking students to theorize which columns will have strong, weak, positive, and negative relationships. THEN have them make the plots in Pyret and reflect on what they find.

Linear3

  • Add some scatter-plot images to this lesson, maybe some fit-model images as well?
