T-962A reflow oven: upgrade firmware #1
Comments
The current firmware has never failed me. All my pcb's made with profile 2 are working with no exceptions. What problems are people having? Are we sure it's the profile and not the user? I do not think we should upgrade unless something is wrong. |
I use the last profile last 2 times. Works OK. But we need to document what paste+profile to use. Ideally on wiki+on machine |
looks like the oven can run upgraded firmware without any hardware mods: UnifiedEngineering/T-962-improvements#79 |
@jonnor the last profile is one of the 2 that can be modified by users (with incredibly crappy UX), so ymmv if anyone changed anything. The first 6 profiles are all made to work with the most popular solder formulas. |
One improvement (which we may or may not need) is to be able to control the oven from a computer: UnifiedEngineering/T-962-improvements#98 |
We have a T-962A reflow oven from www.tech168.cn. It works, but the current firmware isn't the best.
An improved firmware (open source) exists in the T-962-improvements repository.
A tool (also open source) exists to flash firmware lpc21isp, and the procedure is documented in Flashing the LPC21xx controller.
We should look at potential risks and downsides, and then just upgrade the firmware.
