If I understood correctly, this code implements algorithms which are an IP fully/or partially covered by one/many of those listed on http://www.bionet.ee.columbia.edu/patents/
As such, BSD license for code alone doesn't provide sufficient clarity on possible restrictions for use... are there any associated patent licenses (e.g. see http://www.google.com/patents/licensing/)?
