HELP NEEDED: My BMW fingerprint

Hi all,

as BMW seemed to have killed the old API, we need YOUR help! We need fingerprints of the new My BMW API endpoints.

How can you help?

• Please install bimmer_connected==0.7.22using pip3 install --upgrade bimmer_connected or by using the latest version of our custom component.
• Then, execute the fingerprint command on via cli (see data contributions).
• Please upload the created files in the fingerprint category in our discussions.

Before uploading, please check again for any personal data. Location data and VIN should be removed automatically, but double check!

What's the catch

Please note that from what we have seen the API structure has changed quite a bit so a major rework of our parser will be required.

This might take some time ;)

It seems you are running an older version of bimmer_connected. Please check using pip3 freeze | grep bimmer. You need bimmer_connected>=0.7.19.

Just tried to pull a new fingerprint but login to BMW is not possible

I tried with 0.8.0b7 oder 0.8.0b8

Getting the same 400 error, tried to remove the integrations and now it's not accepting my username/password any longer.

I also tried to reconnect via the integration and also got user denied (username or password wrong)
Login via the Connected Drive Website with the known login details works without any problems

I am still running off the _0.8.0b3 version that I had installed last week and not changed / touched / updated since then.
However, I only noticed now that my communication to the bmw web api also stopped (yesterday?)

Sorry for this question that may look trivial: how do i install bimmerconnected_0.8.0b10? I use pip3 install --upgrade bimmer_connected but it comes with 0.8.0

0.8.0 is even better, that's the final release. The b ones were beta/pre-releases.

You could have installed them with pip3 install bimmer_connected==0.8.0.0b10 but no need anymore.

ok with 0.8.0 fingerprint is working, but HA integration keeps showing error 400. I removed the integration and I cannot restart it because of an authentication error:

Just noticed the following regarding the charging time:

Remaining time via sensor.330e_xdrive_charging_time_remaining: 13,39h
Remaining time via MyBMW App: 2,15h (Endtime: 15.01h, time at that moment: 12.46h)

So something is not adding or substracting correctly.

What would be great to pin this down:

• A fingerprint while still charging?
• your local time at the time of fingerprint
• what My BMW tells you (a Screenshot like above is fine)
• the timezone set in Home Assistant (Europe/Berlin?)

The connection reset is rather telling that something broke during transport of your request an probably has nothing to do with the library. If I read correctly it also occurred only once.

What’s the typical cadence for these changes to get merged into home assistant official integration?

Usually fixes to ge functionality back are integrated pretty quickly.
However it was a lot of changes so I cannot tell you. Also kit in our hands.

Tried to update to the newest bimmer_connected version and it ends up with the following error, concerning pycryptodome

Try upgrading pip before (python3 -m pip install --upgrade pip).
If it still won't work, whats your Python/pip version?

Mhh. I have no issues install pycryptodome==3.12.0 on Python 3.9.9. And our tests were also able to install 3.12.0 on a fresh environment for Python 3.6 to Python 3.10.

Maybe try setting up a new environment?

tested fingerprint and it works for both vehicles, i3S and G30 540i 2018 with ID5.

Would anyone be so kind to point me in my next step, trying to set to login data into file and schedule check for every 30 minutes so I can log this data to InfluxDB and later use by Grafana.
