What's the difference between bika.lims and senaite.lims? Is this repo dead or unmaintained, and the latter is successor?
Is there any docs about this changes or migration guide.

Bika 1,2,3 is the foundation Senaite rests on, its initial design analysis went under the Bika 4 moniker, with an emphasis on performance and maintainability. In 2018 it manifested under new title Senaite to resolve the project's nagging naming issue at the same time. The project and Cape Town funding company were both using Bika in their titles, unfair towards other contributors.

Bika Lab Systems now contributes our code to Senaite but the bulk is coming from Europe nowadays, some of the best, and via strict release management and quality control. The code has been transformed, and both project goals achieved with aplomb, and you'll still find the original Bika bits at its heart.

With near 20 years invested, we maintain the Bika brand independently from Cape Town, handy in South-South collaborations too. We provide add-ons to extend the generic Senaite base with more specific functions outside its lean performance driven scope.

These are often requirements in distinctly differentiated lab disciplines collected in Bika branches, e.g Bika Cannabis vs Bika Covid. Bika also distributes complete typical configurations, fine tuned over years.

And just there I venture into commercial territory - we realise the need for a Bikalabs.com site for marketing purposes, while aiming to keep BikaLIMS.org community orientated.

In the spirit of Ubuntu, Bika strives for a more holistic delivery model than that pursued in the Northern hemisphere. We value directness as in 'Tell it as it is' translated from isiZulu's bika, which means 'to report'. Not always politically correct, but more professional. Where possible we utilise more affordable local rates, though coders are in a global league of their own:)

Re the Bika Github repos, is quite confusing, somehow we need to move the Bika 3 repos to the background and surface just the new stuff, not much in the open yet. We use bika.ui all the time to restore the classic icon set in place of Senaite's black and white. There are some new COAs and others still to be labelled Bika, Sample Importer, Instrument interfaces etc. A bit messy, in need of attention
