What steps will reproduce the problem?
 1. rip a cd with asunder and save an m3u playlist file
 2. open that playlist in gnome-mplayer.
 3. Use another aplication so gnome-mplayer is not in focus
 4. When it switches to a new song two notifications will appear when the window is not focused.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Should just get the one notification.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

 Ubuntu 11.10 & 15.04

Please provide any additional information below.

This also happens with selecting multiple audio files with Gnome-mplayer in the open dialog with control click and then having it change to the next song with the window unfocused. This bug is probably less likely to be encountered with video files as the user will want to see picture in the window.
