Hi,

I have been using NanoSim quite a lot lately. I did use it for simulation of nanopore reads or to control the quality of long reads with the read_analysis.py-script it works perfectly fine, except for the very minor bug we are discussing in another issue.

The only issue I am having every now and then is ME doing mistakes with not giving the correct files.
It would be very cool to have a quick check of the input-files at the start of the run so you don't have to wait as long to find out that you have messed up :D.

Cheers,
simon

Thanks for the suggestion, @SimonHegele!
We will take note of your request - I agree that it is always best to know sooner rather than later if there is something wrong with your input files.
Just so you know, we don't have a dedicated NanoSim developer anymore, and our dev team will be very short-staffed next year (I am about to go on maternity leave), so unless @SaberHQ (who has departed our group) has time to look into this, unfortunately, realistically, we won't be able to deal with it in the near future.

Sorry about that, but that you for your feedback and interest in NanoSim!
Lauren
