Doesn't work with pagination

With this plugin jekyll crashes if pagination is enabled and /blog/ is in _pages

_config.yml

paginate: 5
paginate_path: 'blog/page:num'

The blog page works if I move _pages/blog/index.html to blog/index.html but it would be nice if this plugin could work out of the box in this situation
