Only MacOS - No Dual Boot Setup? #46
Comments
Install hackintosh first, split your drive if you haven't. Then you can install Windows and boot it from Clover. I haven't had any issues. |
@mceykes I am running macOS exclusively on my 9570 too, no Windows and things are simple. I don't see why I'd need Windows at all. With regards to the BIOS upgrades, that's simple enough. The system can be upgraded during system boot with the flash file copied over to a USB drive, no Windows is necessary. I've done this successfully. |
well thanks guys for the advice! will try to only install macOS like @attilagyorffy - Thanks! |
Good luck @mceykes, I've successfully upgraded my XPS 9570 BIOS to version 1.13.0 using the method described on this Dell support page. No Windows was necessary. |
Hey Guys, I just got my XPS 15 9570 and will start working on installing the dual boot configuration. I am thinking of only installing MacOS without Windows. Is there anything you can think of that would speak against such an installation ? I was wondering about BIOS updates, and I am not sure if it's possible through MacOS or without Windows. What is your take on that?
The reason why I would go for that is that I dont need the Graphics Card (I am a Musician and do mostly audioprocessing atuff) and would favor stability over Windows and the possibility to play games.
Cheers
