Prevent Kodi's auto shutdown timer

Would it be possible to implement support for either disabling Kodi's native "auto shutdown timer" (when recording timers are pending) or add auto shutdown support to the addon itself? I now use Kodi's auto shutdown timer to shutdown my system after 30 minutes of inactivity, but I'd like to disable this when recording timers are set.
