Node 8 is officially EOL. Although we weren't initially planning on removing support for it in v3 of the SDK, it seems appropriate to do so since Lambda functions can no longer be created with Node 8 runtimes which will make reproducing some issues impossible.
To encourage customers to keep software up-to-date, unless there is major pushback from the community, we will remove support for Node 8 upon the release of v3 of the SDK. #157 has been updated to reflect this.
