ggplot in particular. Also Adobe Illustrator. With pretty examples. Get Amir to help.

That would be wonderful! Maybe the first step is to get on the same page about what we want to help readers be able to do. (Sorry that the issue text is so sparse on this). Here are a couple examples of what I think we should be aiming for, which set a high bar (in my opinion), but give a sense of the kind of skills to include:

This is a high bar indeed... were these generated in Python? Some of the details, like placement of text and arrows seems like a manual adjustment... I will think about what is feasible on my end.

I think it was a combination of tools, but almost certainly with touch-ups in Adobe Illustrator. Eventually, I think we should have a section on good ways to use Illustrator for this kind of work, but that can be later.
