plot all events as a 3D column chart (or hexagon layer); the height of the bar maps to the number of events;

clicking on a column should open some pop up with the names of the event of this day and links to the events detail view

using deck.gl does not only looks super cool, but also allows us to plot as many events we want without running into performance issues
