I occasionally want to copy some edits back to the main file, but continue editing. Could copy-edits-and-exit be split into copy-edits and copy-edits-and-exit?

Seems like a good idea to me. I probably won't work on the idea myself, at least not anytime soon, but patches welcome. :)
