  • I feel there's a jump from what we cover about classes and OOP before and during Module 7, Module 7 probably goes too far into the nitty gritty and the early modules don't go far enough. And some of what's in Module 8, like what __str__, __add_ do etc., maybe should appear earlier (before some of the Module 7 concepts).

  • In both of the last deliveries we've run out of time to do anything meaningful on the exercise

Exercise

  • Everyone used the notebook rather than the code in the repo. If we want people to use the repo maybe don't include the code in the notebook.

  • People looked at the code and didn't really take in the instructions/suggestions at the bottom - again either remove the code from the notebook or move the suggestions to the top and the code to the bottom

  • at least one person said it was frustrating to be told we didn't expect to have time to finish the exercise

  • can people make enough progress in 10-minute chunks?

Afterwards the group in the office (5-6 people) continued and worked on the exercise together and it seemed to be going really well, once I'd pointed out the suggested order of steps to follow etc. So I think it does work well as an exercise, it's just an exercise that needs a lot of time and space to work together on it.
