Thought of writing a bunch of notes as an appreciation of EKG. I will prefix them with "EKG Rocks". May be a separate category may be better.
BASB (Building a Second Brain) is a thoughtful/technique by Tiago Forte. The book suggests a method called CODE. Reading through the Chapter on Capture, I found this nugget of wisdom
You do not want to just bookmark the link and save it to read later, because then you won't know what it contains in the first place.
Basically the book suggest to create summary notes for your bookmarks. EKG has first class of supporting such kind of summary notes for your bookmarks using ekg-capture-url. Andrew in his videos has also talked about such workflow of summarizing the content of a URL in your own terms.
There are not much tools out there which support such summarizing with the ease which EKG does. Not to say that there is nothing out there. There are tools, but somehow for whatever reasons I have not hit a chord with them. Now with EKG, I am always finding summarizing the URLs which I read.
Generally the tools are supposed to be helping you, but there are tools which changes the way you think. I feel EKG is one such tool which makes you better at taking notes and thinking in general.
