Installation Instructions
*************************
This project depends on several other python-related projects and these must
first be installed.
Windows Specific Instructions for establishing proper Python Environment:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note that you may need to specify a web proxy:
to get conda to use our web proxy, I had to do:
set http_proxy=http://proxy.server:port
set https_proxy=http://proxy.server:port
This is how I did it:
1. Install Anaconda python (2.7)
2. install pygi-aio-3.x.x_ref<N>-setup.exe (available from pygnome project)
During the installation process, make at least the following choices:
GNOME libraries:
- Base packages
- GTK+ 3.x.x
- Pango 1.x.x
non-GNOME libraries:
none
development packages:
none
3. Install Pyro (v3)
by Anaconda (one way I used):
conda install -c david_baddeley pyro
4. Install graph library [you can skip this step]
It seems that networkx is already installed by default with anaconda and I
could not figure out how to install python-igraph cleanly.
5. Do either of these:
a. (start cmd.exe)
i. cd path/to/arbwave-project
ii. Execute 'python project-shell'
iii. cd arbwave/
iv. 'python run.py [options]'
- use --help to see options
b.
i. Put all the other packages in your PYTHONPATH somehow
ii. cd path/to/arbwave-project/arbwave/
iii. 'python run.py [options]'
- use --help to see options
Ubuntu Specific Instructions for establishing proper Python Environment:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
apt-get install \
python-matplotlib python-scipy python-igraph pyro \
py-gi libgtk-3-dev libpango1.0-dev
Do either of:
a.
i. cd path/to/arbwave-project
ii. Execute project-shell
iii. cd arbwave/
iv. ./run.py [options]
- use --help to see options
b.
i. Put all the other packages in your PYTHONPATH somehow
ii. cd path/to/arbwave-project/arbwave/
iii. ./run.py [options]
- use --help to see options
Dependencies:
------------------------------
Python packages:
python (2.7)
pygi
- Gtk > 3.10
- Pango > 3.10
matplotlib
also provides mpl_toolkits import
numpy
generally included as part of scipy and required for matplotlib
scipy
provides scipy.interpolate imports
One of:
python-igraph (much faster)
or
networkx (often already installed)
Pyro
version 3, not 4
pylibnidaqmx
- must have modifications by S Olson
- python wrapper library (wraps NI DAQmx nicaiu.dll c library)
physical
- http://github.com/olsonse/physical
- dimensional analysis
- units and constants library (c++, python, octave, gnuplot)
viewpoint
- not yet openly available--get from S Olson
- python wrapper library (wraps Viewpoint dio64_32.dll c library)
- only required if using ViewpointUSA dio64 hardware
marvin
- not yet openly available--get from S Olson
- python wrapper library around MarvinTest c-libraries
- only required if using MarvinTest FPGA or analog output hardware
C Libraries (for hardware support in non-simulated mode):
NI DAQmx (nicaiu.dll)
Viewpoint DIO64 (dio64_32.dll)
Marvin GxFpga (libGxFpga.so, or GxFpga.dll)
Marvin GxAo (libGxAo.so, or GxAo.dll)
