[Bug]: Cannot open menu on Luoran M4S or blank white screen

What was the Problem?

I have been trying to find a version of ABS that will work on the Luoran M4s that runs Android 8.1.0. Up to v0.9.70-beta I have a black background and a hamburger menu in the upper right that will not open similar to #1369. Starting with v0.9.71-beta I instead get a blank white screen a la this comment I posted a while back. The exact device is https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D2JX6F5Z and at this point I'd be game to buy one for a dev if it would help get ABS working on here for my kid.

Steps to Reproduce the Issue

1. install any apk for v0.9.59 through 0.9.70 to see menu issue
   • I tried v0.9.37-beta.apk too and think it was the same visual... I know it did not provide any usable way to connect to my server (no menu) but cannot remember if it actually showed the menu or not.
2. install any apk from v0.9.71 to v0.9.77 to see blank white screen

What was Expected?

I expect to install the current apk and be able to connect to my server to see my library since the device runs a version of android that is stated to be supported by the apk.

I did some more experimenting and found the v0.9.35 has a working menu but can’t seem to talk to my server.
