tray icons not appearing

Sorry if this is something that gets spammed often. But I cannot get tray icons to appear and yes I have tried troubleshooting and making sure the ";" wasn't there, and making sure tray position is to the right.

OS:Void Linux
Kernel:6.1.27_1
WM:i3 4.22

Same here! Tried tinkering with all tray config variables and nothing but a empty space (background color).

Eureka! Have you tried adding wm-restack = i3 in config.ini? That solved the problem for me.

do you ensure you open a single instance of tray? for example, if you are using i3bar with i3status, please close i3status and i3bar at first. Polybar User Manual already mentioned that

Only a single instance of this module can be active at the same time (across all polybar instances).
