Multithreading and many requests simultaneously.

Hello,
I am integrating "rest_client" for one of my application, currently its in the initial stage and there may not be much requests to the server, but just wondering if there are many requests to be made simultaneously, how reliable will be "rest_client" and what measures we can take to overcome if any problem occurs?
